VS Ryan Hardy Ltd PP Core 2011/12 Model

Ryan Hardy is everyones sentimental favourite. His flawless style and fearless attitude is the stuff of legends.
2011 has been a great year for Hardy, Winning the IBA Box pro and a second in the Zicatella pro.
He's on track to be a #1. His board is already!

This is What Ryan has to say about his board:

My shape has always been refined to allow for maximum speed and control when the waves get serious.  This years template is no different and it allows me the confidence to get the best controlled scoop possible when dropping into the wave and maximum speed and forward projection off the bottom turn. I like riding the PE core when the water is colder and the waves are suckier and heavier.  This gives me the best flex for scooping and maneuverability that's required when you're moving fast in heavy waves. I prefer to ride the PP core when the water is warmer and the waves are softer, have a bit more of a slope and thinner lips.  In these conditions I find the PP's rigidity to be optimum in retaining maximum speed from take off to finish and it also provides the greatest 'pop' or projection off the lip.

He has combined his board knowledge with his precise wave riding skills to come up with this board.
If you wanna surf like Ryan this is where the dream begins.

Does the hardy ltd have one or two stringers? What do you think the max weight in lbs. is for the board?

The Hardy Ltd has 1 Stringer + Mesh. Max weight for a 42.25 would be about 220lbs Thanks Toby.

What is this board like for Drop Knee riding? The contoured deck looks a bit weird, is it grippy enough or should I go for the flat surfaced PP board?

Hey Karl. yeah these go ok for Dropknee. Maybe better to go for a flat deck though for the DK.

1 or 2 stringer ???

1 Stringer

hey mate i was thinking of buying the ryan hardy ltd in the gray and red... it the photo up the top it has no contour? and then in feeatures it does? gose this board have ryan hardy contours? :) cheers

Hey. Yes the Ryan Hardy ltd has contours. We just dont have shots of the contour in every colourway. We have the Ltd in Grey Deck/ Red Bottom with the contour in this model Thanks Toby

Hey guys, with the "VS BODYBOARDS Ryan Hardy Ltd Bodyboard", in the white colour option (green slick etc), does that still have the same contours as the displayed yellow board? And what sizes do you have in stock of the white deck? Cheers, Mitch !

yes it has the exact same contours. We have the White Deck in all sizes listed Go ahead and order if you want one! Thanks Toby

we recently bought our son a VS Ryan Hardy Ltd PP Core 2011/12 Model body board and I am about to fit a leash plug so it is important to know how many stringers does the board have? Your help would be appreciated on the above information and any tips that would help fit the plug. Regards Mark Adam

Hey. The boards usually have stickers showing where the stringers are. if you put the plug about 5cm either side of the middle you'll be safe either way. You can just plug using a screw driver, just make sure you keep the screwdriver at 90 degrees so the whoe is stright. Thanks Toby

what does it mean when they talk about a reverse rocker?

Reverse Rocker means the rocker is inverted. If the board sits on the ground slick down the tail and nose will be touching the ground but the rest of the board will be lifted of the ground. Here's some info on different types of rocker: The rocker is the curve through the length of the board. If you put the board on the ground slick down the board will rock if you tap it on the nose or tail. Dead flat means it will lie flat with the gradient shaped into the nose the only thing coming off the ground. It will not "rock" This is fast and holds in well, More for the advanced rider. Little bit of nose rocker means it will have a slight lift off the ground from around the first foot or so from the nose. Less Likely to Nosedive and easier to turn. For the Intermediate Rider. Quite a lot of rocker means both the nose and tail will be lifting off the ground if it's lying on the ground. Only the middle of the board will be touching the ground. Not likely to nosedive and easy to turn but not very fast or responsive. For the Beginner rider Touch of reverse rocker means the nose and tail will be touching the ground and there will be a slight lift off the ground in the middle of the board. This board is super fast and responsive but easy to catch rails and nosedive. For the Advance rider or pro Most boards are Dead Flat. Most Pro's ride Reverse rocker. Hope this answers your questions.
