NMD BP Mini Quad Product Test.

NMD Mini Quad Product Test. BBK Boss Toby Player tests out the NMD Ben Player Mini Quad. TP somehow snavelled 90 mins in between dropping kids off & work & tested out his Bro's Mini Quad Concave. Toby's froth was noticable. "That board goes sick!" Toby Spat. "I went up from a 42.5 to 43 & have lost a few kg's & now down to 85 kegs. The two combined have added some extra speed. I found the full quad concave on my last NMD held in a bit too much & found it hard to release the tail in the pocket, I used a BP Wi-Fly but didn't like that as the tail slid while adjusting the rail line mid tube. The PFS-T beams were great on my last BP Quad but is started to disintegrate around the core & I found it a touch stiff for hollow slabs & colder waters. I actually used to bruise my thigh at depot or shippies getting the rail in. The Straight PP // Surlyn Mesh & less aggressive quad concaves felt good right out of the wrapper. Price point spot on too" Check out the board here: https://www.bodyboardking.com/nmd-bodyboards-ben-player-mini-quad-concave-polypr~644138 TP is known to exaggerate, so we asked for evidence. Check out the session below.

QCD's 25th Anniversary

Todd Quigley’s 25th Anniversary!
Yep that’s correct Todd Quigley has been shaping boards for 25 years, and to celebrate the massive milestone Todd is releasing a limited edition board to commemorate the occasion. The 25th anniversary model will come in 2 colours, 2 sizes, full contour, quad concave and kinetic PP core along with 25th anniversary logo. Limited to 25 boards only.
TQ started shaping straight out of highschool at just 17 years of age the years was 1997 and pretty much was smack bang in the middle of one of the best eras our sport had seen. Starting out prepping cores under the watchful eye of master shaper Nick Mesritz Todd quickly moved through the stages of production and made his way up to head shaper in just a few short years. Shaping boards for so many of the top pro riders of that time and local guys it was clear he wanted to move on and start his own company.
So the story goes when Nick ( Mez ) left the then Toobs/ Mez factory to start his journey to creating NMD the owners of the factory wanted to start fresh and that’s when TQ had to step up to head shaper and also create a new name/brand for the company. They came up with the name 4 Play for the stock board side of the business and Todd came up with Odyssey for the custom side of things.
Pretty crazy that a couple of young guys pen a name that would sell thousands of boards world wide and sponsor some of the best riders of all time and that brand still is around in some form today.
When TQ was ready to move on and start his own factory he wanted a brand that wasn’t just a name or something that sounded cool he wanted it to mean something. QCD was born standing for Quigley Custom Designs.
The new 22/23 QCD range is due next month and this range is sick! Adding in an old school versatile shape by none other then Mason Rose this board is going to be the perfect addition to your current quiver, these rides are limited and will sell fast.

Using Our Website filter's

When we created our new website, one of our main goals was to provide customer's with an easy way to find the right board or fins or wetsuit in just a few clicks. We did all the hard work so you don't have to. One hack that we use is to filter entire categories. For this example we'll use "Bodyboards" Say you wanted a Black Deck board in 43.5 in Polypro Core. This is a hard to find board & could take a while to find by going through all brands & models. The way to do this is to hover over the Bodyboards category & click on " Search By Brand" . This will bring up all 341 bodyboards. We can then click " Filter by Bodyboard Size " & select sizeL 43.5 this gives us 23 opton's. We can then further refine to " Filter by Bodyboard Core// Slick " For this example we'll choose Polypro Core// Surlyn Slick which gives us 11 options We can then use " Filter by Bodyboard colour " & select Black Deck which gives 9 options. Say we wanted a Bat Tail we can then " Filter by Bodyboard Tails " & select Bat Tail & there is one option: https://www.bodyboardking.com/stealth-bodyboards-bullet-kinetic-bat-tail-polypro Easy as that! The same process can be used to filter any category. PS If you want to select more than one filter option per filter category, just go back & select another option. Hope this helps! Thanks Toby Video on how to do this.

Liam Lucas joins the team!

Bodyboard King is proud to announce the latest addition to our pro team, East Coast extraordinaire Liam Lucas! Arguably one of the hardest working people in bodyboarding over the last few years, Liam has released an incredible pro model with Science, with an explosive shape and classic colours, emphasising style over all else. More recently, Liam has bagged a second place in the Elite division at the inaugural Box Fest, held annually at Box Beach; alongside chasing waves around his locals in the Eastern Suburbs and at a few notorious rock ledges on the South Coast. We're expecting big things this year from Liam, with a potential restock on his Science board model, alongside a highly anticipated clip from his recent endeavours - last heard saying "Mate the clips we have, you have no idea" - and if his past performance is anything to go by, we certainly have an idea. Stay tuned. Liam ripping in his most recent clip

Lewy Comeback

By the looks of it, team rider Lewy is back & better than ever! With a fresh clip like this - filmed over a mere 2 sessions - it's hard to believe he's been out of the water for close to 6 months. The best part? This is only a teaser made up of simply leftovers and B-sides. Wish our leftovers looked like this! Leading up to this release, Lewy's been working on Tension 11 with Chris White and bigger projects on his own. If this is anything to go by, we are in for a big year of explosive surfing! Pipe Boog Jam.

With no Pipe contest the past 2 years, it was a looking dismal for competitive bodyboarding. Luckily the APB Progresion & Mike Stewart came up with the Boog Jam. The APB Pipeline Boog Jam 2022 presented by Wexxle saw a new format and experience for riders at the infamous Banzai Pipeline, seeing them compete against previous champions of the event for Pipeline glory. 4 x 10 person heats with priority positions determined from the shore. Each heat is 55 minutes long The event used remote video judging after the completion of the day's competition and minimal human contact for maximum safety.
